Casemiro – Cristiano Ronaldo And Neymar Would Get On Well

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro believes his Brazilian compatriot Neymar would get on well with Cristiano Ronaldo, should he make the move to the Bernabeu during the summer. The 26-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain on a world-record deal from Barcelona only nine months ago, but he is already being linked with a surprise exit amid reports of him regretting the transfer.

Neymar had fancied his chances of winning the Champions League with Les Parisiens this term, but the club failed to come anywhere near their quest as they bowed out in the round of 16 stage to Los Blancos. Speaking on El Partidazo, Casemiro talked up the prospect of Neymar moving to the Spanish capital, but he is doubtful whether a deal could happen during the summer.

He said: “[Neymar] has always been spectacular, since he was 11 years old. He does crazy things. I don't think there is any chance that he will come to Real, but you have to ask [Madrid president] Florentino Perez. He knows that the door is always open for him in Madrid, but he is happy in Paris. He always says that he is happy there, that he is comfortable in Paris. There are many Brazilians there too, it is very quiet there, but whether it's possible you have to ask Florentino.”

Obviously, Los Blancos are expected to spend big in the transfer market after a poor defence of their La Liga title, but the emphasis may be more on the midfield department, where a number of fringe players including Mateo Kovacic and Dani Cabellos could make way. Karim Benzema has been one forward, whose future has often been the subject of speculation, but even his potential exit could make it difficult to pursue Neymar, who may cost another world-record sum in the summer. The Brazil international recently had a foot surgery, and this has typically ruled him out for the rest of the season. He is however expected to report for national team duty ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
