Fergie Eyes Euro Glory

Cristiano Ronaldo's manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels that United have a great chance of winning the Champions League this year.

That was the key message emerging from Tuesday's press conference in Copenhagen, one of United's stops en route when they last won the competition, in 1998/99.

"We've got a new team and I think we can do it," said Sir Alex.

"The squad as a whole have done very well this season, playing with great imagination. The performance at Bolton was, I hope, an indicator of the progress we are making.

"We want to maintain that form (against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night) and show the consistency that good teams have."

"There are more than half a dozen teams that could win it," said the manager. "That's how open the competition is. All four of the English teams have a chance."

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was lucky to win his place back from Darren Fletcher if Sir Alex is to be believed.

"It was very difficult to leave Darren out against Bolton," said Sir Alex. "He was one of the best players, if not the best, against Liverpool."
