HAZARD WANTS THE TOP

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has stated that he wants to play against the top guns like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The draw for the stage of the competition will be held in Switzerland on Friday.

Chelsea qualified for the stage after beating Galatasaray 3-1 on aggregate. The first leg ended in a comfortable 1-1 draw, while the second leg was a comprehensive 2-0 win for the blues. Even though Hazard did not scored both matches, he was very influential by creating a lot of chances.

There is a chance that Chelsea could come up against Real Madrid or Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the competition. This would be damaging to their hopes of winning the title for the second time in the history since both teams represent a very tough challenge.

However, Hazard says that he does not have any problems in facing both these Spanish clubs because he wants to challenge himself against the best in the world. Being drawn against these two giants will mean Hazard coming up against Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
The Belgian winger has stated on several occasions that he wants to become the best in the world and that means reaching the levels of Ronaldo or Messi.

“For me, for a young player, it’s very important to test myself against Ronaldo or Messi. Just to be on the pitch with them would be good and I would try to do well. It’s an aspiration for me to be as good as Ronaldo and Messi. I watch a lot of games they play in and I try to be on the same level. I want to score more because sometimes I play good, like against Galatasaray, but I don’t score. To be the best player in the world, I have to score more,” said Hazard.
