Real win in Sociedad

Cristiano Ronaldo was in sparkling form for Real Madrid in their final pre-season friendly. He came close to scoring, but had to be happy with his contribution of an assist.

Real Madrid faced Real Sociedad in the latter's centenary celebrations. The Whites won thanks to goals from Benzema and Sneijder.

Cristiano Ronaldo came close to scoring an opener following a set of dribbles down the left wing, but keeper Claudio Bravo saved the day. The Portuguese star nearly netted a free-kick that was cleared by the keeper.

Benzema scored the first goal of the match four minutes into the second half when he finished off a free-kick by Ronaldo that had hit the defence. The locals were forced to look for an equaliser more insistently, opening up the game and increasing its pace.

Sneijder netted the second strike from an amazing free-kick in extra time, sealing a victory for which the Whites had to work very hard.

Speaking after the game, Ronaldo was confident in the team's. "I felt fine tonight. We are all doing well and we are working hard to reach the form we want.

"It's still too soon, but I know it will be easy for us to achieve that. The important thing is that we won the match, but our main goal is to gradually reach the form we want to have."
