Ronaldo: I want to be a Legend

Cristiano Ronaldo may have wanted to leave when the Press and fans were all against him after the World Cup, but now he has only one thing on his mind - becoming a Legend at Old Trafford!

"What I want to do is leave my mark on the club and for the fans to say I was one of the club's great players."

Ronaldo was unsure of the reception he would receive back at Old Trafford after Portugal's stormy World Cup quarter-final with England in July.

But he said: "I spoke to my agent and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and I took a calm decision and decided to stay.

"I really think it is the best decision but when we are hot-headed sometimes we say things we don't mean.

"Whether I will be here for another two, three, five or 10 years or until the end of my career I don't know.

"What is important is that things turned out well. I'm at Manchester and I feel very good. This is one of the biggest clubs in the world."

Meanwhile, United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has backed Ronaldo's decision to stay and has told him he could become the best player in the world.

"I have told him he can become not just one of the best players in the world but the best.

"When you deal with young players it's not about telling them or forcing them to do certain things.
