Cristiano Ronaldo always makes headlines even when he is not playing well
Cristiano Ronaldo always makes headlines even when he is not playing well and this is once again the case in 2015. The striker has once again opened rumours about a move away from Real Madrid after admitting that nothing is certain in football. Even though he has a contract with the Spanish club until 2018, Ronaldo says that a move is never far away from happening. These comments are seen as a direct attempt to make his importance felt at the club. This could not have come at a better time for the player and those with his interests.
Ronaldo has been going through a very poor patch of form. Even though he has been scoring almost one goal per game, it is a vast reduction from his high-scoring days. Those goals have helped him win the FIFA Ballon d’Or award in the past two seasons. This time around, he is likely to lose with a Neymar or Lionel Messi grabbing the title following their Champions League success a few months ago. Ronaldo has even stated that a move to Barcelona cannot be ruled out since anything can happen in football. The 30-year-old will be at the end of his prime when his current contract with Madrid ends.
"There are things that you kind of already have an idea, that to play one day for Barcelona would be almost impossible, or to play for another English club other than Manchester [United], it's very complicated. But that's not 100 per cent guaranteed. As I said before, there are no certainties in football. Everything is open, all leagues.I may end my career here with Real Madrid. I'm just being honest. I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. If I was 75 per cent certain, I would say so, it wouldn't be a problem,” said Ronaldo.
