Cristiano Ronaldo requests Fans to back their Club
Cristiano Ronaldo says that Real Madrid needs the help of fans in the Champions League quarter-final against Wolfsburg.
The Spanish club trail the German outfit 2-0 from the first leg and they are in grave danger of being knocked out of the European cup at hands of an underdog. Wolfsburg were never expected to give any contest to Madrid in their path to the semifinals. Madrid seemed to have the easiest draw in the quarter-finals, but the situation has turned completely around with Madrid losing 2-0 in the first leg in Germany.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were extremely poor in that game with only Gareth Bale showing glimmer of hope. The return leg will be at the Santiago Bernabeu and this provides Madrid with some confidence that they will be able to win the tie. The club needs to have the perfect start in order to have any chance of a comeback. Wolfsburg players are determined to give their 110% in the hope of preventing Madrid from seizing an early advantage. In order to get this early advantage, Ronaldo believes that fans will have to play a major role. Ronaldo has found himself booed by his own supporters in recent times, but this has to change on Tuesday night.
“Tuesday will be a perfect night, it will be magical, with your [Real Madrid fans] support we’re going to give our best on the pitch and we’re going to get through the tie. Playing well, with the players on the pitch, those on the bench and with the 80,000 people who I would love to see in the stadium supporting the team, because that’s going to give us a very big boost. I hope it will be a magical night, I’m really excited,” said the Real Madrid superstar.
