Fergie: Ronaldo Being Watched

Sir Alex Ferguson isn't worried about Cristiano Ronaldo's holiday in LA - where he met up with his new commercial managers. Ronaldo has been pictured in adn out of bars, and with various ladies, but Sir Alex is calm when asked about him - because he knows its not true!

Speaking to the Press in South Africa ahead of a friendly, Fergie was eager to dispel the myth. "Listen, I’ve got someone with him there. It's a load of rubbish. He’s not drinking for a start. They (newspapers) had him drinking vodka and that. I said to myself: “Drinking vodka?” I phoned my friend who’s with him and he says: “Boss, there’s no truth in that.” Ronaldo doesn’t drink, we know he doesn’t drink. Stories about some of the other stuff he’s doing are rubbish too."

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's agent also distanced Cristiano from partying too hard, issuing a firm denial on their website.

"Cristiano Ronaldo didn't waste 12,000 euros drinking, and certainly not in liquor, at a bar in LA. Cristiano Ronaldo does not consume alcohol.

"And for that reason, it is completely false that he spent 12,000 euros in cocktails or that he was intoxicated. Cristiano Ronaldo's lawyers can also clarify it was the owner of the selected LA bar who, in courtesy to the best player in the world, paid the bill of the Portuguese international and his friends.

"They also confirm that Cristiano Ronaldo only drank water and fruit juice drinks - as he always does.

"And because his good name and professionalism are at stake, it's absolutely false and absurd that Cristiano Ronaldo danced and left aside - even for a brief moment - the crutches he has been using since July 7. He remained seated the whole time at his table in one of the bar's reserved areas, complying with doctor's instructions."
