HE MIGHT PLAY
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has refused to rule out Cristiano Ronaldo out of participation for the upcoming Copa del Rey final clash between his club and Barcelona. This is one of the several El Clasicos of this year. Barcelona will be coming into the match with a lot of confidence after having beaten Real Madrid 4-3 only recently.
Cristiano Ronaldo was a disappointed player in the match, as he had little impact throughout the 90 minutes. His competitor, Lionel Messi, on the other hand, scored a hat-trick and was applauded by the Real Madrid supporters themselves.
Ronaldo also missed the Champions League quarter-final clash with Borussia Dortmund away from home. Real lost the match 2-0, but managed to progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League due to their 3-0 win in the first leg. They will be coming up against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals in what would be a repeat of 2012. The German club managed to beat Real on penalties back then. Ancelotti would want key players like Ronaldo back into the team due to the important matches coming up in a short span of time.
Ronaldo is almost certain to miss the league encounter against Almeria during the weekend, but Ancelotti says that he would not rule out the match is superstar out of the El Clasico.
“I don’t know if Cristiano will play on Wednesday; we will have to wait and see. He has a small injury. He could feature in the Copa del Rey final but we won’t take any risks. We have to be at our best physically and mentally to beat Almeria. We have a good opportunity to do our best in La Liga and we also have enough time to focus on the Copa,” said Ancelotti, who will be without the suspended Alonso.
