Juventus boss Max Allegri praises Cristiano Ronaldo’s mentality

Juventus head coach Max Allegri has hailed the mentality of Cristiano Ronaldo during his debut season in the Serie A. The Portugal international made the surprise move to the Bianconeri from Real Madrid last summer and he has proved a good hit through the campaign where he has contributed 27 goals while helping the club win their eighth successive league title.

Speaking to AS, Allegri said that Ronaldo has a strong mentality and that separates him from some of the best players in the world, he said: “In terms of mentality, he is stronger than anyone else. Every day he finds personal objectives to hit and he can find them within himself. A player who has won everything he has at the age of 34 will find it difficult to feel hungry, but he is deadly in that sense. He has this determination that is incredible. We should all learn from Ronaldo, and I too have learned, because it's not everyone who gets to work with the best player in the world.”

Ronaldo had been bought by the Bianconeri with the means of enhancing their bid for the Champions League title. However, that was not meant to be despite Ronaldo’s efforts after a young Ajax team managed to oust them during the quarter-final stage of the Champions League. Nonetheless, there were plenty of positives with Ronaldo becoming the first player to secure titles across three top European leagues while being able to adjust to the new environment with relative ease.

Juventus are expected to go on another spending spree during the summer but prior to that, they have already made a forward-minded addition in the form of Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman is due to join them on a Bosman when his Arsenal contract expires next month and he is sure to provide added attacking support for Ronaldo with his tireless runs in to the box.
