Overlooked and Off

Cristiano Ronaldo has come clean - he wants to leave Manchester United for Spain!

He refuses to be drawn on which club he wants to go to - for fear of cutting down his options as the Barcelona and Real fans have a fierce rivalry.

Speaking after the game, Cristiano said: "I think I should get out of Manchester, the circumstances are not right to keep playing in Manchester."

"In two or three days I will decide where to go. I always said I wanted to play in Spain.

"Nobody stood up for me at Manchester, although I did not do anybody any harm."

Sounds Like he might be on his way.

Meanwhile, Lothar Mattaus was making barbed comments about the FIFA Young Player Award. Ronaldo finished as the second most popular player in the fans vote (losing only because of a campaign against him by England fans) and the FIFA panel decided not to go with the fans choice (some Ecuadorian) and instead chose Podolski, probably to reward Germany for all theri hard-work in hosting.

Matthaus said that 'sportsmanship' came into the FIFA panels thoughts.
