Portugal were two minutes away from winning a crucial three points that would have put them top of their Euro 2008 group and effectively taken them out of the qualification dog-fight.

Sadly it wasn't to be, with the Polish managing to force the ball home via a deflection and the post, to steal a point.

Portugal, playing at home, had looked the more likely, with Cristiano smashing a shot against the crossbar. Poland rallied and took a goal against the run of play just before half-time.

After the break, Cristaino and his mates looked to turn the game around, and took just seven minutes to equalise - Maniche drilled the ball home from close range.

Cristiano Ronaldo sent the fans into a frenzy when he latched on to a Simao shot and voleyed home, but Poland equalised late on.
