Ronaldo Aims to Win Bet

Cristiano Ronaldo may have had a superb season so far, but that doesn't stop him wanting more! He wants to be the first to win the Player of the Month title three times in a row, and hes got the small matter of a £400 bet with Sir Alex to win as well (not to mention the Champions League, Premiership and FA Cup!)

"To be Player of the Month three times in a row? I work for it, because that means I'm helping the team and that's my ultimate goal," says Ronaldo. "Who knows, it might happen again. Anything is possible.

"I feel quite happy to have won the two awards. What makes it better is knowing that only a couple of players have succeeded in doing that. That gives me enough motivation to go on working and keeps my spirits high."

But Ronaldo laughed off a suggestion that he could overhaul Drogba in the goal stakes and pick up yet another accolade: "No way," he smiled. "It's a possibility that never crossed my mind. What I do want is to work, hard and well, and help my team.

"United are in a good situation. We want to keep this way and not start thinking about Chelsea, only on what we have to do. I believe this year we are going to be champions."

On his £400 bet with Fergie, Ronaldo was positive - "I lost twice already, and both times he waived payment, but now is all or nothing and I will make him pay," says Ronaldo, who fell three short last season with 12 and the season before scored nine, one away from Ferguson's challenge of ten.
