RONALDO BACK TO MU?

One of Cristiano Ronaldo's former Manchester United team-mates has suggested that the legendary striker could potentially make a sensational return to Old Trafford.

Despite the turbulent end to his second spell at the club, which saw his contract terminated following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, speculation about a future reunion continues.

Ronaldo, now playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, remains in prolific form, even as he approaches his 40th birthday. The 39-year-old recently expressed his enduring affection for United in a candid interview with former teammate Rio Ferdinand, hinting that he still holds the club in high regard.

Despite the acrimonious nature of his 2022 exit, and the ongoing tension with current United manager Erik ten Hag, a return to the Theatre of Dreams feels improbable. However, former United defender Wes Brown believes it’s not completely out of the question. In an interview with **BoyleSports**, Brown hinted that Ronaldo might one day return to the club in some capacity to make amends for how things were left.

"When it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United in some capacity, you can never say never," Brown said. "Obviously, when he left the second time, we were all disappointed because he had been one of United’s best-ever players. It was disappointing how it ended, and I think he could return to try and make amends for the sour ending."

Brown also emphasized Ronaldo’s impact during his brief second stint at the club, where he netted over 20 goals in his first season back. "I think the exit was a bit over the top, but for him to come back in some way, I’d love it," he added.

Ronaldo has been vocal about the current state of Manchester United in recent interviews, stating that the club requires a complete rebuild. He also took aim at Erik ten Hag, questioning whether the Dutch manager has the mentality needed to bring success to the club. Speaking on the *Rio Ferdinand Presents* podcast, Ronaldo said, “As I told you, Manchester, they need to rebuild everything, in my opinion."

While the prospect of Ronaldo returning to play for Manchester United seems remote, Brown’s comments leave the door open for a potential reconciliation in the future—whether in a playing capacity or another role at the club.
