Ronaldo Delighted
Cristiano Ronaldo has told Sky Sports of his delight at completing a remarkable nine months in his career by lifting the Premiership title at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United star's future looked in doubt following the World Cup finals, with Spanish clubs sniffing around the youngster who had become public enemy number one after his infamous quarter-final spat with Wayne Rooney.
However, Ronaldo has swept all before him in the Premiership this season, being named PFA Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Footballer of the Year during a campaign in which he has scored 17 goals and helped his side to their first title in four years.
The Portuguese international reflected on the Premiership victory after United's 1-0 defeat to West Ham, and spoke of the unbridled joy for everyone associated with the new Champions.
"The team is happy, it is unbelievable. It is unbelievable for the supporters, for everyone, it is an amazing day for me and Manchester United," Ronaldo told Sky Sports following the final whistle.
"I feel good, the World Cup is finished, now we have won the title this is the best result.
"I am very happy, it is a great day for me and my family and for Manchester United."
United's fans serenaded Ronaldo at the final whistle with his own personal song, and the exceptional talent has praised the Old Trafford crowd for their support during the campaign.
Ronaldo also explained that he is looking forward to playing an even more valuable role for Sir Alex Ferguson next season.
"This is the reason I enjoying playing here and want to stay at this club, not because they sing my music but because they are the best supporters in the world," Ronaldo added.
"Everyone tries to improve. It is a great season for me, winning the title, and I've won a few individual medals.
"I'm very happy and I want to keep going like that next year."
