Ronaldo plays in Ireland

Cristiano Ronaldo made his Real Madrid debut in Dublin, in front of a sell-out 11,000 fans. Ronaldo started on the right hand side of the pitch, and was looking sharp with some neat jinks and tricks getting his new fans excited.

Ronny played the first 45 minutes, before being subbed (along with most of the rest of the team) and was pleased with how the game had gone.

"It's still soon to draw conclusions. What's important is to try things out, win and, later, try to score more goals... We've just started. Nothing's been defined. My team-mates are doing a good job, but this is the first time we've played together on the same pitch."

"I don't mind playing down the right, the left or the middle. I just want to play, help the team and blend in with my team-mates as fast as possible."

"I am calm and working well. I hope to score many goals. I want to play at the Bernabeu on Sunday. It will be a ver special moment for me. I hope things continue to go this well."
