Ronaldo Settles In
Cristiano Ronaldo had his first training session wit his team-mates last week, and has settled in beautifully according to new boss Manuel Pellegrini.
"He's as I expected him to be. He is the first to arrive at a training session, he has fully integrated into the squad, he doesn't act as a star. He is a very talented but normal player who is devoted to Real Madrid. His image is very different to how he is as a player."
Ronaldo will be flying to Ireland over the next few days to play in a few pre-season matches in Dublin, where massive crowds are expected.
Meanwhile, Manchester United supremo Alex Ferguson has come to terms with Ronnys exit, and believe s United were lucky to keep him as long as they did!
"We had a good relationship with the boy. Carlos Queiroz and myself two years ago never thought we were going to keep him for this long and to have him for six years we are very proud of that. He has taken on a new challenge and I respect him for that because he was a fantastic player for us. He was a good lad, no problems and we wish him well."
"The £80 million figure was what we always wanted. It was non-negotiable, take it or leave it, but there was no need to have a knee jerk reaction to losing him. We did very well to keep him for six years. It was his moment to leave and we allowed him to do that. We should not panic because of one player leaving. I have brought in youth in Antonio and Gabriel and an 'old codger' in Michael. That will balance things up. Experience is vital and I know that Michael will score a lot of goals for us."
