Roo & Ron Shake on It

The moment The Sun had been waiting for all summer - when Rooney and Ronaldo met for the first time after Rooney's sending off - finally arrived today.

Rooney has been in training for a week, and Ronaldo was due in for his first day today, with Portugal having gone on a week longer at the World Cup.

Shearer had been saying that Wayne should smack Cristiano, but thankfully it has all died down now (within the United camp at least!) and Rooney and Ronaldo apparently shook hands, and made up.

Ronaldo arrived with Gabriel Heinze - and kept looking straight on through the media pack of 20, as if to say he was ready for it all.

United fans will be happy Cristiano turned up, as there was talk of him going AWOL and refusing to come back to Manchester.

We look forward to another attack-minded season!
