Roma Players Back-Track

The Roma boys have been watching the Cristiano Ronaldo videos, and have probably learnt one or two things about Ronnys game. The first thing is probably that the best way to stop him is to try and stop the ball getting to him at all, and the second is that when Ronaldo has been wronged, he fights back more than ever.

It happened when he was vilified by the English Press (who ended up giving him their Football Writers Award), happened when he was lunged into and stamped on at Man City (he ran up the other end and won a penalty, then proceeded to win the game for United), and countless other occasions.

Which is why Luciano Spalletti is looking to try and get Ronaldo on his good side!

Having castigated Ronny for 'showing off' and 'humiliating' his team, Lucianop was keen to set the record straight:

"Some of the things that were said after the game were perhaps said in the heat of the moment because we had the bitter taste of defeat in our mouths," he admitted.

"Our comments had the bitterness of defeat in them. We were disappointed after the game and sometimes in those situations you say things you normally would not. That is what happened here. Cristiano Ronaldo is an excellent player. He is a very exuberant player and a very fair player and has shown that many times."
