The Big Fall Out
The Newspapers have had a chance to mull over the events, and whilst a few are bemused at why Cristiano Ronaldo broke the news through a well respected but bizarrely irrelevant Brazilian newspaper, many have decided that this is the end of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
The Guardian, amongst others, suggests that it may well be Manchester United that stand to gain the most, with the transfer figure being banded about at £78 million - a world record fee. Real would make that money back within minutes of their new kit going on sale across the globe, with Adidas reportedly chipping in to help Real get the funds together.
Whether Ferguson will take the reported £78m on offer is also up for debate, with his threats about leaving Ronaldo 'to rot' a few days ago coming back to the forefront of everyone's minds.
The Sun believe that the deal is hardly cut and dried, but that Ronaldo's words will cause Real to step up theri chase. They also report that Ronaldo would be offered £300,000 a WEEK, AFTER tax, which is a lot of money in anyone's language!
The Times has a slightly different take on events and is reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo has now made up his mind to join Real, and has banned Sir Alex Ferguson from visiting him at the Portugal training camp.
The world waits to see the next move. We expect the next move to come from Real with either a formal bid submitted to Manchester United, or talks through the Press saying that they are interested, and have agreed terms with Ronaldo.
Don't rule out a Manchester United statement reporting Real to FIFA, or expressing the fact that Ronny isn't for sale at any price though.
