Ronny: Portugal can Win

Cristiano Ronaldo believes that Portugal can go all the way this time.

Having lost out in Euro 2004 in the final, and then fallen to France in the World Cup two years ago, Portugal are looking to capitalise on their talent and good form this time around.

After Ronaldo had played a key part in securing victory and qualification to the next stage, he said that he reckons Portugal can win it this time.

Our main aim was to get to the next phase. I'm very happy to have helped my team-mates to win," said Ronaldo. "We played well in the first match and again in this match. If we carry on like this, we have a good chance."

Ronaldo added: "We played very well, although Czech Republic played very well in the first half. It was very difficult to penetrate their defence. We know how to sacrifice everything for the good of the team.

"We have now got a big chance but must respect our opponents because they too have a mission - they want to win, as we do."

Ronaldo also had a cheeky grin on his face when he claimed "I like playing in a white kit" - adding afterwards (as the Press started writing their usual pieces on a move to Real) "the national team's white kit that is!"
