FERGIE WANTS RONALDO BACK
The Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he would jump at the opportunity to bring the former winger Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club. F
erguson decided to allow him to leave to Real Madrid in a world record £ 80 million deal back in 2009. Ronaldo could have joined the Spanish club a year ago, but Ferguson persuaded him to stay for one more season and he got the best deal for him. However, Manchester United have since lacked that spark that helped him win the Champions League in 2008.
Ferguson has now said that Ronaldo has become a player who cannot be bought again due to his incredible transfer value. Due to the fact that Real Madrid paid £ 80 million for the player, they would be expecting around £ 100 million for him. This is in addition to the fact that he will not have any resell value once he signs for the new club due to the fact that he is 27 years of age. Ronaldo has been threatening to leave Real Madrid. He is demanding around £ 25 million per year as wages, which could be a stumbling block in the Portuguese extending his stay at the Spanish club. He has only two seasons left on his current contract.
"You never know. I don't know when his contract finishes. He may want to go to another club at some point in his career and I'd hope he would want to come here. But that's a long way off. I'd love to see that, but it's fanciful thinking really. First of all, how much it would take to get him from Real Madrid and, secondly, I don't think there's any chance they would want to sell him," said Ferguson. United have a significant amount of debt that will prevent them from being Ronaldo.
