MUSEUM OPENS
The Portuguese star of Real Madrid unveiled to fans, friends and media the long awaited museum that contains photographs, signed footballs from his hat-tricks, shirts and silverware he has collected throughout the entirety of his career.
C.Ronaldo had to fly over to his hometown of Madeira after Real Madrid played against Osasuna some weeks ago and concluded with a 2-2 draw.
The former Manchester United player was joined at the inauguration of his museum by his girlfriend Irina Shayk, team-mate in Real Madrid Pepe, the head coach of Portugal Paulo Bento, the international relations director of Real Madrid Emilio Butragueno and a number of other popular and important figures of Portugal were also seen at the unveiling.
The top goal-scorer of Real Madrid said that it was a special day for him and he was proud to give something back to the place and people where he grew up.
"I'm a proud Portuguese and a proud Madeiran, so it means a lot to me to open this museum here. It's a special day for me and a way of doing something for my people. All of the trophies I have won are important. And I have room for more. I don't want to mention one in particular." he told reporters
The 28 years old attacker of Real Madrid is one of the favorites on winning the Ballon d’Or but even if he does not manage to claim it in January, his teammate Pepe said that C.Ronaldo is still the best player in the world even without the silverware.
"I think he is the best in the world. It's a special day for Cristiano and it is great to be here. I had many good times here and it means a lot every time I come back." the Madrid defender said.
