Ronaldo Admits Soft Spot For United
Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he has a soft corner in his heart for his old club Manchester United.
It’s at United that Ronaldo really developed as a player and became one of the superstars of world football. He spent 6 fruitful years there before leaving for Santiago Bernabeu.
Ronaldo is flourishing at Bernabeu as well. His record, in fact, there in Spain is better than what it was at United, but, still, whenever, one talks about the Portuguese forward, United comes to mind.
There have been talks for the last couple of years about Ronaldo’s possible return to United. The player himself has, however, made it clear quite a few times that he has no problem whatsoever at his current destination, but, he has also said occasionally that he misses Old Trafford.
Even in his most recent interview, when he was asked about United, he confessed that he loves the club a lot.
The Real Madrid Talisman was quoted as saying, “Manchester United was a great club to be a part of. Those days were just wonderful and I do miss them at times, but, the fact is that, my journey here in Spain so far has been enjoyable too. Sometimes I feel like I have been playing an online casino, and my hand just keeps on getting better and better on the river!”
When asked if it’s possible for people to see him back playing for United, Ronaldo said, “Well, nobody can see the future. Any player can play anywhere, but, at this point of time, I have no issues at where I am.”
For United, Ronaldo played 196 league matches in which he scored 84 goals, while, for the Los Blancos, the 29-year Old has made 165 league appearances so far and has found the back of the net 177 times.
So, it’s clear that he has peaked at Madrid, but, he had developed at United; that’s for certain.
