RONALDO HINTS AT RETIREMENT WITH AL NASSR

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of football's greatest icons, recently opened up about his future plans in an interview with Portuguese outlet *Now*.

As the 39-year-old approaches the twilight of his illustrious career, he suggested that he might hang up his boots while still playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he currently plies his trade.

Ronaldo, who made history by breaking the world transfer record in 2009 when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid, became the all-time top scorer for the Spanish giants. During his time at the Bernabeu, he won five Ballon d'Ors and five Champions League titles, solidifying his place as one of the greatest players of all time. However, his subsequent stints at Juventus and a second spell at United didn’t reach the same heights, and he eventually made the surprising move to Al Nassr.

Now, as he nears the end of his career, Ronaldo reflected on his journey and hinted at where it might conclude. "I don't know if I'll finish soon or in two or three years. But, possibly, it will be at Al Nassr. It's the team where I'm happy, where I'm good, where I feel good, both in the country and in the league," Ronaldo stated. "That's why, most likely I can finish my career at Al Nassr. I'm very happy to play in the Arab league and I want to continue."

While Ronaldo has been a key figure in the football world for nearly two decades, his recent performances, particularly at international tournaments, have shown that time may be catching up with him. Despite Portugal's disappointing exit in the quarterfinals of the most recent Euros, Ronaldo remains committed to his national team. However, when it comes to his retirement from international football, he plans to keep his decision private until the moment arrives. "When I leave the national team, I won't tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one," he said. "Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play."

Ronaldo also addressed his post-playing career, making it clear that he doesn’t envision himself in a coaching role. "At the moment, I'm not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team. It doesn't even cross my mind, I've never thought about it," he admitted. "I don't see my future going through that. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds."

As Ronaldo continues his journey with Al Nassr, his comments suggest that the end of his playing days might be closer than many fans would like to believe. Whether he retires soon or in a few years, his legacy as one of football's greatest players is already well-secured.
