Cristiano Ronaldo's CNN Interview

Cristiano Ronaldo gave an interview to CNN last week. The transcript makes interesting reading!

Cristiano, you're in the center of attention so often. Events like this, how do you deal with them?

RONALDO: I feel good. And it's normal that people want to know what you do, what you like. It's quite interesting. To be honest, I like to do this type of interviews. People's very -- they want to know what is my life. It is quite fun sometimes. I like to do it.

Let's talk about the Inter game. What are your thoughts on the result and your performance?

Honestly, I think we surprised them. They weren't expecting us to play the way we did. In the first half, we created numerous chances to score, but unfortunately we didn't convert them. Over the 90 minutes, we were better than them, we had the best opportunities, but we couldn't score, and that's football. Now we will play at home and we have a big chance to go through.

For you, what's the difference between a Premier League game and a Champions League game in the preparation and motivation?

The atmosphere is different around the games, the psychological preparation is different, because we play Premier League games every weekend, while Champions League games only come around once in a while. The teams in Europe are stronger than in the Premier League, and winning the Champions League is harder than winning the league in England. So that's why the Champions League is special. Because it has the best teams and the best players.

In the last six months, you won practically every trophy. Which one do you cherish the most?

It's difficult to tell you which one was more important. I always dreamed of winning a golden ball, a golden shoe, being voted best player in the world. Also, I had always aimed to win the Champions League, the World Club Cup. So I was very happy to win all those awards and titles.

Considering you have achieved so much already, are you still hungry to achieve more success?

What I think is that I have to keep playing at the same level and winning more titles. I am still young, have a long career ahead of me, and I want to be part of history. I believe I have made my mark, but I want more. So I strive to keep going at the same rate to win more titles.

You have many fans on your side, but there are some who criticize you. How do you react to a hostile environment?

Honestly, I like it when supporters boo me. I am used to it by now, so it doesn't bother me at all. What can I do? If they are hostile towards me, I live with it.

What are the team's goals for the rest of the season? You are still in all competitions.

We have the Carling Cup final on Sunday and that is an important match.

What do you like to do when you're not playing football?

I like to be with people who care about me. My friends and family. I enjoy going out for lunch and for dinner. Also to stay at home and joke around with people. I like to sing. You know, do everything that normal people like to do.

Obviously, I have to be careful sometimes because I know people can be watching me in public, but I try to lead a normal life like any other 24-year-old.
