Ronaldo Smashes Car

Cristiano Ronaldo's first day at Real Madrid was soured by newspaper allegations that he had smashed a car window whilst in Lisbon on the previous day.

Ronaldo's agents acted to clarify the situation, and confirmed that Ronaldo wanted to do enough to convince the paparazzi car that was chasing him and his mother to stop.

Ronaldo said that "he [the photographer] chased me by car from the Ritz Hotel with my mother in the car with me and they filmed all our actions. The chase so perturbed my mother that I had to stop and convince them to leave us."

Gestifute (his agents) said Ronaldo lashed out because the paparazzo refused to leave him alone. Reports suggest Ronaldo's kick broke the car window, which caused minor injuries to a 17-year-old woman who has filed a complaint with the police.
